Taka Horton, a native of San Diego, California, embarked on his baseball journey at a young age. Played at Mt. Carmel High School, from which he graduated in 2019. As a three-year starting infielder for the varsity team, his consistent performance earned him All-Palomar League honors for three consecutive years. In his senior year, Taka led the Palomar League in several categories. He posted a league-best .415 batting average, a .556 on-base percentage, and a .610 slugging percentage. Outside of high school, Taka demonstrated his versatility by playing center field for his travel ball teams, GBG Northwest and the West Coast Clippers and was ranked 55th among outfielders in the state of California. Taka continued his baseball journey and academic pursuits at San Diego Mesa College, where he played for two years and earned an associate's degree. Began the freshman season starting in right field but had the season cut short due to covid. In 2021, he transferred to Corban University in Oregon on a baseball scholarship. At Corban, he further honed his skills and completed his bachelor's degree in 2023. During the summers back home, Taka turned his focus towards training and also began with coaching, contributing as a coach and manager for mutliple travel ball programs. Taka is currently training to attend open tryouts for independent and industrial baseball teams in Japan.
