Andy Parrino

Andy Parrino played major league baseball for the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics, and played for Team USA in the Pan Am Games in 2015.  Andy played college baseball at Le Moyne in Syracuse, then was picked in the 26th round of the 2007 draft by the Padres. 

Upon retiring from baseball in 2016, Coach Andy quickly found his way into coaching and leading young men on the field at Steele Canyon High School where his knowledge and work ethic led to significant improvement for that team. He also has multiple years of youth travel baseball coaching experience, and also coaches his son in local Little League baseball, where he has an undefeated season to his name.

Bennett Parry

Bennett is currently the pitching coach at San Diego City College. After pitching at CSU Northridge, Coach Bennett pitched professionally for over 10 years, all around the world starting in the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2011. He has a wealth of knowledge he wants to share.

Bennett also does pitching lessons at The Nest Baseball Academy.

Brett Balkan

Brett played his college baseball at Northridge earning All-Big West recognition while hitting .285 for the season and .329 in the tough nationally recognized Big West Conference.  After college, Brett played 4 years of professional baseball where he further learned the art of hitting.

Brett has been a hitting instructor and baseball coach for 8 years and is broadly recognized as one of the top hitting coaches in San Diego.

Taka Horton

Taka Horton, a native of San Diego, California, embarked on his baseball journey at a young age. Played at Mt. Carmel High School, from which he graduated in 2019. As a three-year starting infielder for the varsity team, his consistent performance earned him All-Palomar League honors for three consecutive years. In his senior year, Taka led the Palomar League in several categories. He posted a league-best .415 batting average, a .556 on-base percentage, and a .610 slugging percentage. Outside of high school, Taka demonstrated his versatility by playing center field for his travel ball teams, GBG Northwest and the West Coast Clippers and was ranked 55th among outfielders in the state of California. Taka continued his baseball journey and academic pursuits at San Diego Mesa College, where he played for two years and earned an associate's degree. Began the freshman season starting in right field but had the season cut short due to covid. In 2021, he transferred to Corban University in Oregon on a baseball scholarship. At Corban, he further honed his skills and completed his bachelor's degree in 2023. During the summers back home, Taka turned his focus towards training and also began with coaching, contributing as a coach and manager for mutliple travel ball programs. Taka is currently training to attend open tryouts for independent and industrial baseball teams in Japan.

Tommy Simis

He is the hitting coach at San Marcos High School, who  won the D1 championship of the CIF San Diego Baseball Playoffs! And the team he led / managed the previous 3 years, and a roster / team he helped build, Torrey Pines, won the OPEN championship!!!

After graduating from Poway High School in 2008, he earned a scholarship to Cal State University Northridge to continue his career in baseball. As a Freshman, Tommy started 25 games as an infielder before suffering a devastating back injury. After missing his entire Sophomore season recovering from 2 spinal fractures, he started his following 3 seasons as a Captain of the team.
